From ...A Review of The Firehouse Tribute

...Finally we have Fig with a beautiful acoustic version of "Don't Treat Me Bad". I believe, after listening to this whole release, that it was made to attract listeners from all branches of rock, hard rock and heavy metal and they really did a great job!  Enjoy!!!!

Fig : Preoccupation Blue
Review: Well I've had this c.d. here forever, and decided to pop it in and see if I would want to review this.. and all I have to say is Awesome Stuff! It's a one man band .. Matt Fig, he plays everything, writes everything and records it all in his home studio.. If your a fan of 70's-ish.. pop rock, Enuff Z'Nuff style.. this is the guy for you, great catchy lyrics, great songs.. period. Someone needs to snatch this guy up...

Favorite Track: Well they all have there own style, but right off "The Good Together Brings"
Least Favorite Track: "Time to Time" isn't thrilling me.

You'll Sing This All Day!
Wow, great recording! Nice, fat, crisp, clear sound. This song has a lot of interesting parts, good changes. When it cuts out to just the keyboard/bass it really catches your ear. Excellent vocals, the harmonies are well-done. Guitar solo was a good listen. Good job building up to a wall of sound at the end. There is nothing to complain about! 5 stars!

Eleanor Rigby meets Aerosmith
Wow. These guys are very big on pop music history. This is one hell of a tight band! I just love that Eleanor Rigby, Beatles cello confection inserted into the middle of your driving hard rock verse. Great opening with the pedal point guitar note. The guitarist knows not to overplay his hand which happens with a lot of hard rock bands. He knows when to keep quiet and when to turn it on (he really lets go on the solo) The lead vocalist sounds like his voice is doubled which isn't a bad thing at all.  The song is very catchy. It's a "5" all the way!

"Fig's music is everything going right in the world of independent rock n roll.  The vocals are thick and dirty and the music is easily as tight as anything out there from the majors.  Fig will probably come to the mainstream surface at some point."

From www.sleazeroxx.com

"The vocals and music are great, and the band isn't afraid to experiment. Fans of laid-back rock will be impressed."

"And then the voice is so compelling and mesmerizing, igniting
an alcohol induced party atmosphere and the songs rock, it is no surprise that everyone (at the last Fig show) was appreciative. Matt has a certain something and his voice reminds us of Ace Frehley or Taime Downe of Faster Pussycat, the " up yours" attitude comes across, not meant in a negative way, to the contrary, he pulls it off. Those who resist him need to fault themselves. "

"Yeah, right on, show those nu-metal jerks how to write kick-ass songs!"
