The Fig Plex Proxy Clone Pack brings the punch, clarity, dynamics, and raw British-inspired character of a Friedman Plex amplifier to the Line 6 Proxy platform.

This pack contains 16 professionally created Proxy clones, covering the amp from clean and edge-of-breakup tones through muscular mid-gain crunch and full high-gain settings.

What I really enjoy about the Plex is how immediate it feels. There is plenty of upper-mid bite and harmonic texture, but it never feels stiff or disconnected from the guitar. Pick lightly and it backs off. Dig in and it pushes forward. Roll the guitar volume down and there is a surprising amount of usable territory before you ever touch the amp controls.

I wanted this pack to capture more than simply a handful of gain settings. The goal was to preserve the different ways this amp responds and feels, including the very noticeable difference between its High Voltage and Low Voltage operation.

HV & LV

One of the things that makes this amp especially interesting is how much its personality changes depending on the operating voltage.

HV = High Voltage
The HV settings have more headroom, attack, punch, and authority. They feel tighter and more immediate, with a bigger, more aggressive response and plenty of definition when the gain comes up.

LV = Low Voltage
The LV settings soften things up. They are a little more compressed, a little more forgiving, and break up earlier. There is a chewier feel under the fingers that works beautifully for classic crunch, pushed rhythm tones, and expressive leads.

To me, HV and LV almost feel like two related versions of the same amplifier. That is why I felt both deserved to be represented throughout the pack rather than treating the voltage setting as an afterthought.

From Clean to High Gain

Although the Plex is certainly capable of serious gain, some of my favorite sounds are actually found before it gets there.

The cleaner and lower-gain settings retain the amp's bite and immediacy while letting the guitar come through clearly. Move into the mid-gain range and you get that wonderfully responsive Plex-style crunch where pick attack and guitar volume become part of the gain control.

Push it harder and the amp becomes thicker, more aggressive, and harmonically dense without losing the strong attack and definition that make the Plex so satisfying to play.

Friedman 4x12 & Full DI

The cabinet versions were created through a Friedman 4x12 loaded with Celestion Greenbacks and Warehouse Guitar Speakers Green Berets.

That speaker combination is a great match for the Plex. The Greenback-style speakers contribute the woody midrange, bite, and classic British breakup that lets the amp stay lively and expressive without becoming overly sharp. The result is a complete, ready-to-play tone with plenty of character straight from the clone.

The full DI clones capture the amplifier without the speaker cabinet, allowing you to pair the Plex with your favorite Line 6 cabinet models, third-party IRs, or your own preferred speaker setup.

That makes it easy to either use the tones exactly as I captured them or take the amp portion and build your own cabinet combination around it.
